‘At Risk’ Lymphoedema Limb Monitoring
If you are at risk of developing lymphoedema following cancer treatments, the status in your healthy, ‘at risk’ limbs can be monitored effectively using the clinically evidenced, SOZO digital platform with L-Dex technology. If lymphoedema is detected early enough, at a sub-clinical level, it can be reversed. The SOZO digital platform monitors limbs that are at risk of developing lymphoedema and detects changes before they are felt or seen. The readings are so sensitive that a change of fluid in the tissues equivalent to 2.4 tablespoons can be registered. At this stage, which is up to 10 months before any symptoms can be felt, if a class 1 compression garment is worn for 6 months, the lymphoedema is 90% less likely to progress. This intervention protocol saves patients from developing a life-long, progressive condition and has been clinically proven in the PREVENT research trial.
Scar Therapy
Specialist techniques are used from the initial phase of healing to ensure that scars form as neatly and uniformly as possible. Improvements can be made to the texture, appearance and restriction of movement of any type of scar, including keloid, hypertrophic and burns scarring, as well as older, tethered or unsightly scars
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release are a series of slow, deep, gentle stretching techniques, which are applied to restore free movement and influence the tension & restriction in connective tissues. These stretches are used to reduce fibrosis, poor postural patterns and improve scar tissue of any type and age.
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping is applied after treatment to enhance lymphatic drainage by dynamically manipulating tissue pressures with natural, muscular movement. It effectively reduces swelling, bloating, haematomas, seromas and speeds the natural, healing, inflammatory process.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage MLD
MLD are a collection of gentle, soothing massage techniques that have been developed to powerfully stimulate the lymphatic system to remove waste products, toxins, inflammation and fluid retention. MLD effectively relieves pain, pressure, pain, bloating and congestion in the tissues. It also stimulates immune function and digestion.
Diagnostics
I use state-of-the-art technology to detect, calculate differences in limb volumes & monitor progress. I have a Wireless MTablet ABI to detect arterial disease within minutes, ensuring that you are safe to treat. I use L-Dex SOZO BioImpedence Spectrometry for limb calculations and record a baseline to monitor progress as treatments progress. I also have a handheld LymphScanner to detect and assess localised oedema in the breasts, trunk and harder to reach areas.
Deep Oscillation
The Deep Oscillation device creates healing, electrostatic vibrations within the tissues of the client, which are delivered at different rates or frequencies, through the hands of the clinician. The addition of Deep Oscillation enhances lymphatic drainage and is deeply relaxing.
The pleasant, gentle, relaxing vibrations have a deep-acting effect on all tissue types to an 8 cm depth (through skin, connective tissue, subcutaneous fat, muscles, blood and lymph vessels).
Because of the non-invasive, non-traumatic, gentle nature of this therapy, very early applications are possible following injury and from Day One post-operatively. Chronic conditions can also be worked upon with very effective results.
The following physiological effects of DEEP OSCILLATION® are clinically proven:
- Highly effective in reducing pain
- Anti-inflammatory
- Effective in reabsorbing oedema (swelling)
- Encouraging wounds to heal
- Fibrosis Reduction
- Improving muscle tone
- Haematoma/bruising reduction
- Detoxification
- Improved quality of tissue, including cellulite
